Vivi & Mary was created to bring those two things together. We are a small team, and we started with one simple belief: the coat you reach for every day should feel as good as it looks.
Behind the name
Vivi & Mary isn't named after anyone in particular. We chose it because it sounds like two good friends: one lively and spontaneous, the other calm and classic. Together they capture the woman we choose our collection for. She loves timeless style, she lives a full and busy life, and she doesn't want to choose between looking elegant and staying warm.
What we believe in
Timeless over trendy
Trends come and go every season. A beautifully cut coat doesn't. We look for clean lines, soft neutral colours and silhouettes that work just as well this winter as they will five winters from now. Pieces you'll wear on repeat, over a dress, with jeans or with your favourite knit, without ever feeling out of date.
Warmth you can feel
British weather asks a lot of a coat. Wind, rain and that damp chill that gets into your bones. That's why warmth and comfort come first when we choose a piece: a soft lining, a collar or hood that keeps the wind out, a length that keeps you covered, and pockets deep enough for cold hands. Style should never mean shivering at the bus stop.
A fit for every woman
Buying a coat online should never feel like guesswork. Every product comes with a size chart in centimetres and inches, and our size guide explains exactly how to measure. Still unsure? Email us with your height and usual size, and we'll personally help you choose the right fit. If it isn't right, you can return it within 30 days.
How we choose every piece
Before a coat or jacket earns its place in our collection, we ask ourselves the same questions:
- Does the fabric feel soft and look refined?
- Will it keep her warm on a cold, wet day?
- Are the details right: the lining, the buttons, the pockets, the collar?
- Does it flatter different shapes and sizes?
- Will she still love wearing it next year?
If the answer to any of these is no, it doesn't make the cut.
